Looking for a place to shoot? Now that it's summer and, according to the old song, the livin' is easy, you may want to get lined up for hunting seasons, or teach a family member about rifles and handguns and how to use them safely and wisely. Georgians have a wealth of firearms ranges, and unearthing the details about them is as easy as signing on to a special website of the Department of Natural Resources.

All the ranges listed on this site are situated on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). The details are broken down by state regions: Northwest, Northeast, East Central, West Central, Southwest, Southeast and Coastal.

Information for each range includes its name, the WMA in which it's located, county, facilities, hours, driving directions and a "more info" category containing such details as parking info, firearms restrictions, special closings and the like.

The range rules for all the facilities are also listed online.

More questions? Contact the appropriate Region office:

  • Region 2, NE (770-535-5700)
  • Region 3, East Central (706-595-4222)
  • Region 4, West Central (478-825-6354)
  • Region 5, SW (229-430-4254)
  • Region 6, SE (229-426-5267)
  • Region 7, Coastal (912-262-3173)
