Women in the Outdoors Event in September

Submitted Jul. 26, 2010, by Bill Hilts, Jr.

Women in the Keystone State interested in becoming more involved with the outdoors -- including the shooting sports -- have an opportunity coming up in September through the National Wild Turkey Federation's (NWTF) Women in the Outdoors (WITO) program. The Southeast Silver Spurs Chapter of NWTF will be hosting a WITO session on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Branch Valley Fish, Game and Forestry Association, 1000 N. Ridge Road, Perkasie in Bucks County. The day-long workshop will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee is $50. You will get your choice of four expertly instructed classes, including two levels of handgun shooting, muzzleloading, rifles and shotgunning, as well as deer and turkey hunting instruction. For more information on registration contact Kathy Michener at 215-249-9367, e-mail jamkat407@comcast.net.
